Dr. Gautam Dhanaraj is a dual board-certified physician in Internal Medicine and Sleep Medicine. He was born in Jersey City and grew up in raised in Raritan, NJ. Dr. Dhanaraj always enjoyed learning how things work and being able to fix things, and the complexity of the human body made medicine an appealing choice. His passion for sleep medicine began in college when he learned how poor or irregular sleep significantly impacts physical and mental performance.
Dr. Dhanaraj is experienced in diagnosing and treating a wide variety of sleep conditions in both adult and pediatric populations. He is specifically interested in helping patients with sleep apnea and restless leg syndrome through tailored, individualized treatment plans. He has comprehensive experience in sleep disorder management and interpretation of sleep studies and has specialized expertise in Hypoglossal Nerve Stimulation therapy, including device activation, titration, and ongoing management.
Dr. Dhanaraj treats patients as family and enjoys helping patients optimize sleep so they can be the best version of themselves, whether treating their snoring/sleep apnea or helping with night shift work. As a physician who is trained in internal medicine and sleep, he enjoys helping improve patients' additional health conditions through improved sleep.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Dhanaraj enjoys going on walks and playing fetch with his golden retriever. He also loves sports - football, tennis, Formula 1, spending time with friends all over the country, and traveling to new places.
