Evan Butlin, MD
Dr. Evan Butlin in a native of California but has called many states in the US home. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry from Andrews University, Michigan and his medical doctorate from Loma Linda University, California. As a recipient of the Health Professions Scholarship Program, Dr. Butlin was commissioned as an active-duty officer in the US Navy in 2012. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Naval Medical Center San Diego, and pulmonary and critical care fellowship at Naval Medical Center San Diego. Dr. Butlin distinguished himself as an educator receiving multiple teaching awards throughout his career.
Upon completion of his fellowship, Dr. Butlin served in medical assignments on both coast of the US as well as overseas. His major assignments include Director of Bronchoscopy at Naval Medical Center San Diego as well Director of Critical Care Services at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth located in Virginia. His service took him overseas providing medical care in over a dozen partner nations throughout Central and South America while aboard the hospital ship USNS Comfort. Dr. Butlin is board certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, and Critical Care Medicine. He is experienced in advance bronchoscopy including endobronchial ultrasound and navigational/robotic bronchoscopy. His clinical interests include athletic exercise performance, sarcoid and cystic lung disease.
