Deborah Clauss, MSN, CRNP, RN, AGACNP-BC
Deborah Clauss is an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner with specialized expertise in pulmonary and critical care medicine.
Deborah began her nursing career at Lehigh Carbon Community College, obtaining an Associate Degree in Nursing in 2000. While working as a Registered Nurse, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Kutztown University in 2004. In 2012, she completed a Master of Nursing Education at Cedar Crest College. Following her passion for education and patient care, she obtained a post-master’s certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner from Drexel University in 2019. Deborah is board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. She currently serves as the Lead Nurse Practitioner for the Inpatient Critical Care Team, where she provides advanced clinical care and precepts new physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and medical students in the ICU setting.
Deborah is an active member of the American College of Chest Physicians (CHEST) and has completed several advanced, hands-on courses to further her expertise in pulmonary and critical care. Her training includes “Ultrasonography: Essentials in Critical Care,” which provided comprehensive instruction in bedside ultrasound applications for critically ill patients. She has also completed specialized courses in pleural procedures and advanced airway management, focusing on the latest evidence-based techniques for complex ICU cases. These rigorous CHEST courses have strengthened her procedural proficiency and deepened her clinical knowledge, allowing her to deliver the highest standard of care to her patients.
In addition, Deborah has completed a comprehensive pulmonary and critical care curriculum through the Pulmonary, Sleep, and Critical Care Academy, covering topics such as respiratory failure, mechanical ventilation, ARDS, pulmonary embolism, pneumothorax, acid-base disorders, acute renal insufficiency, and sepsis syndromes.
Deborah maintains a strong commitment to professional development and evidence-based practice. She regularly presents lectures for Tower Health on topics including the pharmacology of septic shock and the management of ventilator-associated events (VAE). Her passion for education, mentorship, and clinical excellence is reflected in her ongoing contributions to the field of pulmonary and critical care medicine.
