Preparing for Your Allergy Appointment
Pre Skin Testing Education
You are scheduled for allergy skin testing. Your testing will take about 2 hours.
PLEASE make sure you eat and drink something prior to your skin testing appointment.
Please call (610) 685-5864 Ext: 100 or 102 if you are not feeling well or unable to keep this appointment.
It is important to understand the following instructions to insure the safety and accuracy of your skin test. Skin testing has a small risk of a serious allergic reaction including hives or asthma which may require additional medication and a longer visit. It is extremely rare that patients have a severe allergic reaction requiring emergency treatment. Skin testing cannot be done during an ongoing exacerbation of asthma.
Please be sure your physician and nurse are aware of all your prescriptions and over the counter medications because certain medications can alter skin test results.
