Philip J. Wexler, MD, FCCP
Dr. Philip Wexler received his undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA and his medical degree from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York, NY. He completed his internship and residency at the Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA where he received the Kowlessar Award for Excellence in Internal Medicine. He completed his subspecialty training in Pulmonary Diseases, Critical Care Medicine, Allergy and Immunology at the Boston University Medical Center, Boston, MA. He performed clinical-translational research in asthma and allergic rhinitis, presented abstracts at several different national society meetings and wrote a chapter on the diagnosis and management of chronic rhinosinusitis while a fellow at Boston University.
Dr. Wexler's clinical interests include the diagnosis and treatment of asthma, allergic diseases including rhinitis, sinusitis, hives, angioedema, drug, food and stinging insect allergy, anaphylaxis, environmental allergen control and COPD. He is specialty trained to perform skin testing and allergen desensitization to control allergic asthma, allergic nasal disease.
Dr. Wexler is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Diseases and Critical Care Medicine and is also certified by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology. He is a member of the American College of Chest Physicians, the American Thoracic Society, and the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology.
Dr. Wexler is an active member of the medical staff at St. Joseph's Medical Center and the Reading Hospital and Medical Center. He is also a consultant at the HealthSouth Reading Rehabilitation Hospital in Reading, PA.
He is the proud father of four fantastic children and the lucky husband of his beautiful wife, Teresa.
